Chinese Immersion
Learning and speaking the Chinese language both in classroom settings as well as in the most basic living conditions is what Chinese immersion is all about. It is for that basic characteristic why in the first place it’s called an immersion program. A Chinese immersion program may seem intimidating, as if one is being thrown into shark infested waters, but going through such an experience and learning from it can provide that tremendous boost to one’s self confidence as well as one’s credentials.
A Chinese immersion program can be described as a sink or swim process because a student is flown to China to stay for a certain length of time to learn the Chinese language as well as live a life in China, following its norms and customs, being under its laws and being exposed to the Chinese culture. Being able to “swim” in the Chinese environment and requires some research. The effort to learn the language is a solid first step towards being able to thrive in the Chinese environment.
Going on a Chinese immersion program can take a lot of work, patience and dedication. After all, the advantages of completing a Chinese immersion program can be exceedingly rewarding.
